Clear Aligners for Teen is designed with today’s youth in mind. These clear, removable orthodontic aligners can straighten your teeth without the need for metal wires and brackets. Unlike traditional braces, Clear Aligners for Teen are comfortable, nearly invisible, and removable, which allows you to remove them as you eat your favorite foods and brush and floss your teeth. Clear Aligners for Teen motivates teenagers to enjoy life without restrictions while promoting better overall dental care.

Key features of Clear Aligners for Teen

Teenagers are constantly on the move and require special options when it comes to their braces. Clear Aligners for Teen utilizes the same technology as Clear Aligners for adults; they consist of a series of clear plastic aligners that gradually move the teeth. Extra features designed especially for teens include:

  • Blue wear-indicators on the aligners that gradually fade from blue to clear to help you, and our team, gauge wear time
  • Aligners designed to compensate for the growth of molars and new teeth
  • Customization to fit your mouth correctly and comfortably
  • Removable and nearly transparent to ensure you can eat with freedom and smile with confidence
  • Six free individual replacement aligners in the event that your aligners become misplaced or lost

Conditions improved by Clear Aligners for Teen

Between 70 and 80 percent of adolescents in the United States require braces, according to the American Association of Orthodontists (AAO). Clear Aligners for Teen uses advanced technology to treat a broad range of orthodontic conditions. These include overbite, underbite, crossbite, widely-spaced teeth, and overly crowded teeth. Injuries and tooth and jaw problems may also require the use of braces to correct jaw and teeth alignment problems.

How does Clear Aligners for Teen work?

Like any orthodontic treatment, Clear Aligners for Teen requires a customized treatment plan created by Christopher Cosse. Generally, each set of aligners is worn for approximately two weeks and removed when you brush, floss, eat, and drink. Your teeth will gradually move with the series of aligners, which typically ranges from 18 to 30 aligners in total. You’ll visit our Shreveport, Louisiana office every eight to ten weeks to check your progress and make any needed adjustments.

Clear Aligners for Teen introduces a whole new way to make your smile straight without the unappealing look and hassle of traditional metal braces. This revolutionary method of correcting smiles is being used by teens everywhere, including right here at Cosse & Silmon Orthodontics, to straighten their teeth with confidence.

What is AcceleDent®?

If you are undergoing orthodontic treatment with Christopher Cosse, we bet you would probably welcome any innovation that could reduce the time you spend wearing braces.

Our team at Cosse & Silmon Orthodontics is proud to offer our patients AcceleDent, an innovative device designed to increase your rate of tooth movement as well as potentially decrease your overall treatment time.

AcceleDent is a comfortable, lightweight, hands-free device that is held between your teeth for 20 minutes a day while you undergo treatment with Christopher Cosse. Using microvibrations that help stimulate bone movement, AcceleDent complements the controlled force braces provide to help bring your teeth into ideal alignment.

AcceleDent, which is easy to use and clean, is compatible with both teen and adult patients, and allows patients to enjoy everyday activities during the 20 minutes each day. Simply press the removable mouthpiece into the activator, bite down firmly enough to hold the device in place, and turn on AcceleDent.

A study has indicated that AcceleDent is an effective treatment in safely speeding bone movement, and can even reduce the time you spend wearing braces 38 to 50 percent faster than usual.

The Clear Aligners Treatment Process

Clear Aligners is gaining traction as a sought-after solution for orthodontic problems. Unlike traditional braces, which require the placement of brackets on teeth and the connection of unsightly wires, Clear Aligners works nearly invisibly (as its name suggests). Particularly for those who do not wish to draw attention to their orthodontic work, Clear Aligners provides an attractive solution.

Consultation with a Treatment Provider

Our practice has received specialized training to work with Clear Aligners. During your consultation appointment, Christopher Cosse will assess your smile needs. In some cases, the type of problem may not lend itself to correction through Clear Aligners, and we may offer an alternative solution.

Creation of a Custom Treatment Plan

Clear Aligners works using a series of customized clear trays that fit almost perfectly over the teeth. To create these trays, Christopher Cosse will take X-rays and impressions of your teeth. These are submitted to a specialized laboratory that makes a 3D image of your smile. This is used to create a specialized treatment plan that provides an estimate of how long treatment will take.

Arrival of Custom Trays

Once your customized trays have arrived, the treatment begins. For Clear Aligners to work properly, you must wear the aligners 20 to 22 hours per day, removing them only to eat, drink, and brush your teeth. The trays gently draw your teeth into proper alignment, correcting your orthodontic problems as you go about your everyday life.

In general, you will replace your aligners with a new set every two weeks. This is to encourage your teeth to continue moving throughout the treatment process. You’ll need to check in with our Shreveport, Louisiana office every six weeks or so to ensure treatment progresses smoothly.

Beautiful Smile: Complete!

Once you complete your individualized treatment plan, you’ll have the smile you’ve always dreamed of. Like with traditional braces, Christopher Cosse may recommend that you wear a retainer to ensure that your teeth remain in their new positions.

How a High-Tech Office Helps Your Orthodontic Treatment

Our office strives to bring you the latest and greatest in orthodontic techniques and technologies. Being on the cutting edge of the industry is important—it ensures you, as our patient, are getting the best orthodontic treatment you possibly can while keeping costs down!

The goal of a high-tech office is three fold: to have effective treatment, to have efficient treatment, and to make the whole process easy, painless, and cost-effective for you.

Here are some of the technologies being implemented by Christopher Cosse to do just that:

3D oral scanners: If you’ve ever experienced getting impressions the traditional way, it isn’t very fun! Having a gag reflex is common and it takes several minutes on both the top and bottom of the mouth to get a successful impression.

With 3D oral scanners, we create a perfect digital scan of your teeth without radiation. We then use the results of the scan to create accurate braces, retainers, and other appliances for your unique teeth and mouth.

Digital Imaging: New digital imaging provides us with accurate, panoramic, and cephalometric views of your teeth and their supporting structures. This lets us plan and implement treatment with the utmost precision.

Not only does this kind of imaging expose patients to far less radiation than traditional X-rays but it also gives us immediate access to the images, whereas X-rays had to be developed. This expedites treatment time and means fewer trips to our Shreveport, Louisiana office for you.

New, high-tech braces options: There are so many more choices when it comes to braces these days! Advances in the industry like Clear Aligners, self-ligating braces, and lingual braces, allow patients to not only get highly accurate and precise treatment, but do so discreetly without anyone else even knowing.

Digital scanning and imaging takes the guesswork out of braces. Instead of the orthodontist estimating tooth movement and treatment progression, these days it’s all computer modeled with exacting detail. The result? Your braces do exactly what they’re intended to do in less time with a picture-perfect outcome.

These are just some of the advances in the orthodontic industry. Needless to say, they all make the entire process that much easier and effective for you. If you have any questions or are interested in treatment, please don’t hesitate to contact our Shreveport, Louisiana office!
